Metropol Parasol, Plaza de la Encarnaci ò n, Seville. The dimensions of the building complex are remarkable. In fact, it measures 150 meters long by 70 meters wide by a height of 26 meters and represents the largest wooden structure in the world.

The Metropol Parasol – Seville’s architectural highlight The Metropol Parasol is unlike other highlights in Seville. It is a modern structure (completed in 2011) that was a 2013 Finalist in the European Union prize for Contemporary Architecture. It claims to be the largest wooden structure in the world.

The Antiquarium is situated in the basement, containing important Roman archaeological remains. The Metropol Parasol is both a new landmark for the city of Seville and an engineering adventure – one of the largest timber structures ever built.
